She TOLD him OFF!

TELL someone OFF!

to tell (someone) off (regañar)

The teacher told the student off.

The teacher told off the student.

The teacher told her off.   The teacher told off her.

 More examples:

Why are you telling me off? I didn’t do anything.
¿Por qué me estás regañando? Yo no he hecho nada.
She’s going to tell us off because of this.
Did he tell you off for arriving late?
¿Te regañó por llegar tarde?
Why do you always have to tell me off for everything I do?
Calm down. I’m not going to tell you off.
Tranquilo. No te voy a regañar.
I told him off as soon as I realised what he had done.

GET happy! It’s Friday!

GET happy! It’s Friday!

GET + ADJECTIVE

He’s getting old.

Está envejeciendo.

You’re getting red.

Te estás poniendo rojo.

Thanks to her YouTube video, she got rich and famous!

I get sad everytime I think of him.

I always get fat around the holidays*.

Siempre engordo en Navidades*.

For her wedding, she got skinny (thin).

Entonces, decimos ‘the holidays’.
